The ZUMAT Trust provides a donated flying doctor service in rural north-east KZN. This service assists the local doctors in reaching the outlying clinics in a fraction of the time spent driving on very poor roads. This means improved service delivery of primary healthcare at the rural clinics, which in turn relieves the burden on the parent hospitals. This flying doctor service has been in operation since 1975, and is currently including a helicopter into its fleet to better serve our community.
