Your Health In Your Hands is all about helping all people live a healthier, more active & happier life by accepting PERSONAL responsibility for their health & wellness!
I am planning a massive awareness campaign and fund-raising initiative around cancer specifically and other lifestyle diseases starting with a run from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. This run will take place over a 3 week period during December 2016.
My reasons for embarking on this awareness campaign and fund raiser is very personal as many of my family members, friends and clients have in recent times been affected by cancer, are currently in remission, are still battling cancer or have passed away due to cancer.
Research also shows that 1 in 2 people will contract cancer in their lifetimes and instances of type 2 diabetes have escalated almost beyond control and that across the board people are contracting these terrible diseases at a much younger age as opposed to 20 years ago. These are frightening statistics and I feel compelled to do something MORE than merely help the handful of people I reach through my business.
The aim of “Your Health In Your Hands” is to inform, educate, empower and coach all people across South Africa and the world to live a healthy, active lifestyle, to eat good wholesome food – on a budget – and to take PERSONAL responsibility for their health and wellness! I want to inspire people to grow their own organic veggies, earn money from those veggies, and then to inspire, inform, educate and empower others to do the same.
I firmly believe that with intensified efforts in informing and educating people and inspiring them to accept personal responsibility for their health and wellness, we can assist more people to prevent and cure their cancer and other lifestyle diseases through appropriate healthy diets and lifestyle changes and regular exercise, which will result in them living healthier and happier lives.
Healthy happy and active people are less absent, more present, perform better, make better parents, learners, students and workers, are more involved with their children and the community and are less likely to under perform at work, play and in life.
