This appalling statistic relates to the number of homeless animals who are euthanised annually.

An unsterilised dog can produce over 67,000 offspring in 5 years, of which 6 out of 10 are euthanised, and an unsterilised cat can produce over 500,000 offspring in 7 years, of which 9 out of 10 are euthanised.

These outrageous numbers are overlooked on a daily basis, and are right under your nose.

Does this not infuriate you?
Of course, these numbers are astronomical, but if each one of us can make a difference, together we can make a change!

Woodrock Animal Rescue is the leading non-profit, pro-life, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing shelter in South Africa. We lend a helping hand to homeless, abused, neglected, stray, injured, ill, geriatric and unwanted animals (predominantly canines) who would otherwise have miserable lives and premature deaths.

With over 30 years of saving lives, Woodrock have rescued, rehabilitated, and re-homed more than 20 million animals within South Africa alone.

Woodrock rely solely on the philanthropy of the public, and these numbers have only been attainable by the generosity of the community.

3 months ago, I decided that I wanted to give back. Being an animal lover, it was a no brainer that I’d donate towards an animal shelter. My sister adopted a dog from Woodrock, and only had good things to say about the establishment. I decided that I wanted to be a Woodrock Hero, and signed up for the monthly debit order facility. With just R550 a month, Iknow that my money is being put to good use. They have just built a sterilisation clinic, and this contribution would assist them in reaching their goal of
sterilising 100 animals a month. The reward I get from giving is far greater than what I
contribute, but at least I know that I am making a difference.
