WCCF

VISION:
WCCF is the catalyst to mobilize resources to bring communities to self-sustainability in the West Coast.
MISSION STATEMENT:
West Coast Community Foundation is an independent, registered, non-profit Organisation that aims to mobilize capital and distribute resources to organizations and projects in reducing poverty and developing communities along the West Coast.
GEOGRAPHICAL AREA:
We support projects in the West Coast District. Included are these Municipal Areas: Atlantis, Swartland, Bergrivier, Cederberg, Saldanha Bay, Matzikama and the DMA.
BACKGROUND:
The registration of WCCF took place in 2001 after broad consultation at community level, led by the Goedgedacht Trust.
A mandate for the establishment of a community foundation was given as it seemed an appropriate model to reach grassroots initiatives. The West Coast Community Foundation had to start with no local financial support.

WCCF has a data base of 380 community based organizations and non-governmental organizations active in the West Coast. Most of the community based organizations are small and operate at grass roots level. Local contributions have increased to above 30%.
