University of Cape Town Students Health and Welfa

The University of Cape Town Student’s Health and Welfares Centers Organisation (SHAWCO) is Africa’s largest student-led, Not-for-profit Organisation (NPO) and a University of Cape Town (UCT) Student Developmental Agency located in Cape Town, South Africa. The organisation is comprised of two main sectors, Health and Education.
The Health sector is run by students who form part of the UCT Faculty of Health Sciences, whereas the Education sector is led by students who make up the remaining UCT faculty bodies: Commerce, Humanities, Science, Engineering & the Built Environment. The Education sector also holds a project, SHAWCO Law (LAWCO), which is managed and reserved for students of the Faculty of Law.
