Umtha Welanga programmes provide support and care for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). This is achieved through the provision of after-school and school holiday care and advocacy for OVC as well as recruiting, training and after placement support of foster parents and extended-family caregivers. In addition Umtha Welanga provides home-based care and support to those newly diagnosed with HIV who are unable to care for themselves or who are need of emotional support and education about their disease.
