The Timberwatch Coalition is an alliance of South African NGOs and private individuals mainly from the timber-growing parts of the country, who are concerned about the environmental harm and pollution caused by the timber industry, mainly through the ecological damage resulting from large-scale tree plantations and energy intensive pulp and paper factories. Timberwatch also networks widely with like-minded international groups and NGOs that campaign on similar issues, including the World Rainforest Movement (WRM), the Global Forest Coalition(GFC) and the Environmental Paper Network (EPN).
