The South African Savings Institute (SASI) states that while government and corporates are saving, individual South Africans are not and the trend appears to be getting worse each year. The fundamental reasons for this lies in consumer behaviour and a number of measures need to be adopted to develop a savings culture in this country. Education is a core strategy.
The Saving Train’s solution in creating a culture of saving is through education and practical experience. We believe that the best is to follow what is found in scripture:
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22 verse 6 - King James Version)
