The Green Camp Gallery Project
The Green Camp Gallery Project aims to establish an urban sustainability hub premised on filling the gap in access by those, regardless of circumstance, who stand to benefit from improved quality of life in the urban mixed-use context at 246 Umbilo Road. The Green Camp Gallery Project’s vision is grounded in a neighbourhood economy aiming to operate through a diversity of programmes in the development of a living, working, retail and public space for stakeholders and visitors to the Gallery with an open door policy. This vision is guided by sustainable social, economic, environmental and institutional goals as identified by the supporters and stakeholders of the Green Camp Gallery Project (see also Interested and Affected Parties). The programmes are guided by the principles of best practice by learning through doing at the local level. It is intended that these programmes would expand outwards over time and be replicated elsewhere where appropriate.
