The Delft Big Band The Delft Big Band

Started in 2008, with the assistance of funding from the Department of Social Development, the Delft Big Band and Music Academy if an ongoing project, led by legendary musician Ian Smith. The band consists of 16 musicians, and two vocalists, led by Ian Smith. A music academy has now been launched to teach the next generation of musicians from disadvantaged areas how to become proficient enough to make a living from playing music. The Delft Big Band has produced a CD, and has performed in France, Sweden, and the UK.
