SPCA Germiston and Bedforview

The primary function of SPCA Germiston/Bedfordview is the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We educate our community on how to best care for their pets, investigate cruelty complaints, and where required, prosecute under the Animals Protection Act. We are a registered non-profit non-government organization affiliated to the National Council of SPCA’s. The SPCA Germiston and Bedfordview operates the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality pound, giving owners a 7 day grace period to claim their pets. Proof of ownership is required. Thereafter, and when possible, these animals will be made available for adoption.

We believe that the value of animals, as living creatures, exceeds economic measure. They are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. We exist as an advocate for animals, obtaining rights for them and to protect and enforce their rights. We strongly believe in cultivating a community with an awareness of animals (whose world we share) and respect for all living creatures.
