SevaUnite

Seva is a Sanskrit word, meaning service. It is selfless service which is performed without any thought of reward or personal benefit. Seva is good not only for the spiritual upliftment of the individual, but for strengthening relations between people.

SevaUnite's mission is to facilitate selfless service. We initiate projects in impoverished communities aiming to uplift and empower these communities and involve volunteers directly in the projects, giving them opportunity to experience the uplifting effects of selfless service. Our volunteers are encouraged to see their offering as a means of personal growth. In this way the interactions that occur in the projects are a win-win with everyone involved being uplifted.

The Prison Freedom Project is our main project which is effective in the rehabilitation of inmates in South African Prisons. For more information please see our website: www.sevaunite.org
