Rena Le Lona is a creative centre where 100 orphans and vulnerable children attend each afternoon during the school term and for longer periods in the school holidays. They are able to enjoy every aspect of the Arts, including art, drama, ballet, hip-hop, Afro-fusion dance, comedy, music and singing, guitar, recorder and drumming classes. The Arts is the medium of emotional healing. Each child feels significant and cared for. Each child is listened to and encouraged to express herself. The child learns the joy of being part of a cohesive group - he learns to accept others who are different to himself. Through Rena Le Lona the child is able to eat a healthy meal and take food home. The child meets adults who are committed to his growth and development. The Saturday morning school offers each child the possibility of doing well in English and Maths. The children develop self-confidence, are able to find their inner power through creativity and apply that to their life situation. Gradually they are able to envision their future and make wise decisions. Through our Ingelosi network - the financial support of individual children we are able to positively affect the families and community.
