Protecting Black Harriers

The Overberg Renosterveld Trust has an urgent mandate: To help protect Black Harriers. These majestic birds are in dire straits, with just 1,300 individuals left on Earth. We're now running a campaign to raise funds for satellite tags and for additional surveys. By placing tags on birds, we can learn more about their movements, and the threats they face. We are especially focusing on birds around current wind farms and future wind farms.
