Founded in 1949, Natal Settler’s Memorial Home is a registered Non Profit, Public Benefit Organisation that provides accommodation and care for approximately 400 residents. Our residents comprise of the aged, the frail/semi frail, mentally and physically disabled adults as well as children and young adults severely affected by cerebral palsy. Most of the children at our facility have been abandoned and have been placed in our care by the State.
Many of the residents are solely reliant on Government Social Grants which only partially covers their cost of being accommodated at one of our facilities, resulting in the majority of residents being subsidised by the Home – to a lesser or greater extent.
We provide residential care, social work and therapeutic support, occupational therapy, 24 hour nursing care, medical support services and catering.
