Founded in 2003, Camp Sizanani Life Skills (“Camp Sizanani”) provides vulnerable children and youth in Soweto, Poortjie, Alexandra and Orange Farm, with HIV/AIDS prevention-education and other Life Skills classes. Originally, Camp Sizanani was a residential camp for vulnerable youth and children held by Global Camps Africa (GCA). Following the success of the residential camps, Camp Sizanani Life Skills was formally established as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO number:125-096) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO number: 930 036 322).
Camp Sizanani strives to empower vulnerable children and youth with the Life Skills they need to lead healthy, productive lives-- no matter what challenges they face. Our five, high impact programmes are designed to be engaging and informative about HIV/AIDS, Health and Wellness, Gender Dynamics, General Life Skills, Business, Academics and Entrepreneurship. Programmes consist of specific life skills classes and life skills learning through fun activities such as sports, market days, storytelling, poetry, theatre, arts and crafts. We recently added Maths and Science tutoring at Clubs and at Camp.
