Ongoing disaster relief and nutritional aid in the poorest communities of the Kouga region, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
As an active volunteer of Masikhathalelaneni I see the dire situations that are dealt with on a daily basis. In the event of homes burning down in the informal settlements they lose the very little that they had. These tragedies happen on a daily basis, and with that goes their hope and dignity.
Masikhathalaleneni are on the forefront in restoring their hope and dignity.
They do this by firstly assisting the fire fighters with fire balls, which are in many cases, more effective in extinguishing blazes than water, keeping in mind that water is of very short availability in our ongoing drought period.
My plea, as a volunteer, is that you help us in terms of funds to purchase the hugely important things that assist us in assisting them.
We, as an NPC, receive very little by way of monetary operational funds.
What we desperately need are funds for:
*Fire Balls (as mentioned above)
*Toiletries
*Food
*Clothes
*Shoes
*Bedding
*Furniture and household appliances
