Legae Community Childcare Centre is a Non-Profit Organisation established in 2007 to serve the needs of orphans and vulnerable children in the Daveyton area outside Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa.
We run a Nursery School for children between 2 and 6 years old and an Aftercare facility for school going children up to the age of 12 years. Several activities are offered to stimulate and develop the children.
Children attending the Centre are from the poorest of families and are often raised by grandmothers or relatives. The children receive balanced meals and snacks and our holistic approach includes endeavouring to provide life skills and positive role models. Since father figures are often absent in the families that we serve our male staff have an important role to play in this regard.
The Centre is funded by sponsorships and donations from the public. Apart from a nominal annual registration fee and a small number of fee paying parents, attendance at the Centre is free.
