Since inception in 1989, we have trained more than 16 300 unemployed adults in market-relevant skills. With our motto of ‘a hand up – not a hand out,’ we provide programmes that recognizes human dignity and the human right to live a meaningful life, and assist individuals to regain their self-respect. We do this by empowering them to provide for themselves and for their families. In recent years, we have maintained a 70% success rate of previously unemployed people becoming economically active or given access into further education. Of those economically active, over 32% have started their own businesses.
