Kliptown Youth Program

KYP’s mission is to provide opportunities that will enable our young people to rise out of poverty.

We seek to develop young and dynamic individuals who are willing to contribute effectively for the betterment of their community.

Our tutoring, athletic, and arts programs provide a life to the children of Kliptown not defined by survival, but by the ability to be active community members, to have dreams, and most of all to have hope about the future.

KYP is the only organization within the 44,000 Kliptown community that seeks to develop the literacy rate and technical skills of young individuals, with a view to identifying and nurturing talent to create future opportunity. The organization is led by a dedicated and motivated team of community based practitioners whom share this common goal.
KYP caters for over 400 youths aged between 8 and 20 years within the tutoring programs; additionally providing school uniforms and one balanced meal per day for each member.
