The Kgosi Neighbourhood Foundation (KNF) was founded in 2004 with a mission to bring educational light into the lives of vulnerable children in the Jeppestown/ Belgravia neighbourhood and its surrounding communities.
Its first initiative, the Wings of Hope pre-school, provided members of the local community with excellent pre-school education to ensure school readiness, and academic success in the years that followed. The Foundation has now assisted over 800 students and their parents, providing education, advocacy and compassionate care to those in need.
Through the Wings of Hope Mentorship Programme, KNF provides study support and internships to promising parents who wish to become Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners. To date 7 ECD practitioners have graduated from this programme and are now fully employed. 6 more pratitioners are studying toward qualification.
