When the Jeppe Schools Trust was originally established in 1975, the founding Trustees perceived that to maintain the Jeppe schools as national assets, alternative revenue streams would have to be identified. By achieving this they would play a significant role in providing additional funding for the growing infrastructural needs and the retention of quality staff in the face of dwindling state resources. The Trust has recently been reconstituted so that it will be better positioned to respond vigorously to the challenges of maintaining high quality public education in South Africa today.
