Jamiatul Ulama KZN- ZAKAAT

The social and welfare activities conducted by the Jamiatul Ulama KZN are as follows:
Welfare Relief to those undergoing difficulty with food, rent, lights and water etc.
Welfare Relief to refugees.
House visits to welfare recipients.
Disaster and Emergency Relief operations.
School uniforms and Stationery Project for the underprivileged.
Winter warmth project for the underprivileged.
Various Special upliftment programmes for the general public.
Provision of scholarships and bursaries.

The Welfare department is the most active department of the Jamiatul Ulama KZN. Due to the present economic situation, the number of needy people is on the increase. Assistance is rendered in various forms viz. direct payment of rent, light & water accounts, food vouchers, stationery, and medical assistance.
Assistance is provided to approximately 750 people every month throughout the year. Jamiatul Ulama (KZN) is among the few, if not the only organisation that caters for refugees.
