Ilitha-leseding Foundation was established in 2009 by three young South African Social Entrepreneurs with an aim to bring development to disadvantaged High School learners to make them aware of higher education and how to obtain it. Realizing how resources were not reachable to most learners in townships and rural areas, they expanded their programs to not only providing extensive career guidance workshops but to also implement functional libraries within the school facilities to aid learners and teachers to have access to reference material and develop a culture of information and reading. Their secret in making all of this possible was to mobilize a community of partnering organizations, institutions and individuals that shared the same passion to revolutionize the face of career development education in the country one school at a time.
Ilitha-Leseding Foundation exists to mobilise individuals in their various fields of influence to give of their time, talents and resources to bring career education, hope and mentoring opportunity to learners throughout South Africa. The brand is clearly associated with disadvantaged learners and schools mobilising more than 10 primary schools in great Western Cape area to benefit from the cause.
