IkamvaYouth

Since 2005 IkamvaYouth has opened 6 branches in 3 provinces in South Africa. IkamvaYouth has achieved an 87-100% pass rate and between 42 and 96% of grade 12 pupils from Ikamva Youth have accessed tertiary education each year compared to the estimates for township youth which are often less than 1%. Over 50% stay with the organisation as volunteers once they matriculate.

Learners who access tertiary education become key breadwinners for their families and the knock-on effect is that ex-Ikamva Youth learners ensure that their siblings and other family members are well educated to break the cycle of poverty.

IkamvaYouth has won at least one national or international award each year since 2005.
