After building our Rainbow Centre in Gugulethu, we built two additional centres in Khayelitsha – our Kwakhanya Early Childhood Development Centre which includes our own model pre-school which is a practical training ground for township practitioners and principals and our Enkhululekweni Wellness Centre, where our Health and Seniors Department is run from.
During the 2000s, our focus changed to development and the training of caregivers, pre-schools practitioners and principals. We also took giant strides with the introduction of our pre-school Registration Helpdesk, which acts an intermediary between the Department of Social Development and our pre-school principals with the aim to get the pre-schools registered and eligible for subsidies.
In 2014, we opened our Family Centre housed in our ECD centre. Our Family Centre supports families by providing information, referrals, screening clinics, counselling, as well as services to the disabled, promoting holistic family life.
