Elpetra, a South African non-profit organization (082-694-NPO), was founded in September 2010 as a halfway house for men who are recovering from the sin of drug and alcohol addiction. We offer a 6- or 12-month residential, after-care program which includes accommodation, three meals a day, theory instruction and a structured, daily work program.
Our goal is to provide men with a safe, faith-based community in which they can receive Biblical instruction, counseling, prayer support and a structured daily routine; all of which is meant to help men be restored to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Through partnerships with community support groups and other non-profit organizations, we strive to equip men to re-enter society in a productive manner, with dignity and hope.
We believe that addiction is a sin-condition and that God's solution to addiction is sanctification; which is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock - Matthew 7:24
