The Christian Seaman's Organisation is an interdenominational organisation that has been doing Evangelisation work in the largest South African harbours since 1944. Our motto is: Give a seafarer a Bible in his own language and you give him life in Christ.
Each year we serve thousands of men working at sea and handle Bibles in about 106 languages. We believe that we have to care for each person requiring comfort with the mercy and love of Christ.
We can only do this with your help and we plead for your financial support in our important work. Your donation, no matter how small or large, means that you become part of our work - our caring for those that are tired or overburdened, part of giving water for those with thirst. We pray that God will urge you to help too.
About 90% of all world trade depends on transport by sea. The men working on those ships risk their lives each day to help us lead better lives. The very least we can do is to give them life in Christ. That is precisely what the CSO does! The CSO chooses the Love of Christ each day and that is how we see the value of each setting foot on shore in one of our harbours. May the love of the Valued and the Defenceless urge us to love one another with fiery hearts.
