South African rugby player, Cornal Hendricks’ journey inspired many. Coming from a previously disadvantaged background, growing up in impoverished circumstances, Cornal revolutionised his rugby career through scholar and club rugby before he made his debut in the South African Springbok rugby team in 2014. Through his expedition to success, Cornal developed a great passion for inspiring the youth of Wellington by role modeling commitment and resilience throughout his rugby career. He is devoted to plunging back to the community by making much needed resources available to promote growth amongst the youth.
Founded in 2014 and spearheaded by Cornal, The Cornal Hendricks Foundation (CHF) will serve as a non-profit entity tabbed with supporting causes aimed at combatting social ills in the Drakenstein region and surrounding areas. A partnership has been formed between Cornal Hendricks Foundation and Samaritan’s Feet to journey into uplifting the children and then ultimately the whole family in the Wellington community, starting with the farm-worker families. There are 4 specific farms, with farm schools, who in total accommodate 1500 children.
