Ambassadors of Change is a non profit organisation established in 2016 by a youth collective in Makhaza Khayelitsha, an informal settlement in Cape Town, South Africa, to support community resilience and wellbeing. This community struggles with high rates of unemployment, crime and poverty. AoC develops community role models and supports formal and informal skills development. Its mission is to increase the employability of Makhaza residents, and improve networks of community support, entrepreneurship and innovation. The organisation is run by black youth, and has 100% black beneficiaries, with a focus on women and economically vulnerable families.
